About MeHi! Thanks for visiting my site and taking a peek at my work. My name is Mia Shippey and I'm a filmmaker living in Austin, Texas. In December of 2022 I graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Media Production. Since graduating, I've gotten to work as an office intern at Richard Linklater's Detour Studios. After working at Detour, I received the opportunity to work as an intern at the Austin Film Society. During my internship, I worked in the AFS Programming and Exhibition department. Much of my portfolio shows my work from this department. Furthermore, I've been freelancing as a production assistant. I've worked on a variety of projects, from reality tv to award shows to live events. My skills include producing, assistant directing, editing, copywriting, and more. I'm excited to see what the future holds!
